Trades and Skills

Send an email to the everybody group address, outlining what you are offering or would like to have done- a lift to theairport, tomato seedlings … or contact a member directly who you think can help- eg to mend a necklace.

Details of skills offered are in the annual members’ directory. Many members offer surprising skills, be as specific or as vague as you like in offering help.

Some examples of the things currently offered by South Oxfordshire LETS members are:  


Arts and crafts

Painting, drawing, sewing, graphics, murals, caning


Who, me? I’m bigger now

Babysitting and childminding. Older people companionship and help (DBS)


Clothing and sewing

Making curtains, alterations, mending, ironing


Computing

Help with apples, tablets, laptops, phones, networks, TVs


Entertainment

Social events, panto, film and theatre visits


Extra pair of hands!

Moving heavy things upstairs, help with weeding, going to the dump, spring cleaning


Food

Cooking Indian food, cooking for a large number, jam and marmalade, pickles, spare produce, novelty cakes


Gardens

Digging, weeding, pruning, grass and hedge cutting, frog spawn, spare plants


Health

Dietary advice, alternative therapies, trips to appointments


Home and domestic

House sitting or watering when away, cleaning, ironing, plumbing


Pets

Cat, chicken, dog or horse sitting and care during holidays


Transport

Driving to airport or station, lifts, bike repairs


Tool and equipment loan

Lawnmower, hedge trimmers, carpet cleaner, long handled loppers, mini chain saw, ladders, trailer

Languages, maths, word processing, spreadsheets, getting organised, book keeping, recommendations
